What we fund

The Colyer-Fergusson Charitable Trust funds charitable activity in Kent to improve the lives of local people.  The trustees and staff regularly review their grant-making policies and periodically revise their funding focus.  In 2013 the trustees undertook an extensive review and consulted widely with the Kent voluntary sector.  As a direct result of this and the lessons learnt, the Trustees decided to narrow their focus and make grants to support ‘young people with poverty of opportunity.’

The Trustees are able to support a wide range of charitable organisations, not all registered charities.  For example the Trust will consider funding social enterprises; community interest companies (CICs); educational establishments and churches delivering community projects, providing that their work fits within our funding policies.

The Trust’s current grant programmes are set out on our How to Apply page.
